Can I get out of my Drata contract early?

Usually not for convenience. A Drata subscription is a fixed-term contract - most commonly annual or multi-year - and, like most B2B SaaS agreements, it generally can't be cancelled mid-term simply because you want to leave. GRC Migrate is independent (we take no commission from Drata), so here is the honest version: there are only three realistic paths out, and two of them depend on language in a contract only you can read.

Mid-term exit vs. not renewing - two different questions

Breaking the contract mid-term. Unless your agreement contains a termination-for-convenience clause (uncommon in this category) or you can invoke a termination-for-cause provision that genuinely applies, ending a Drata contract before its term usually means negotiating an exit - often paying out some or all of the remaining term. That negotiation is easier when you have a concrete reason (a merger, a mandated platform consolidation) than when the reason is simply price.

Not renewing. The far more common - and far cleaner - path is to let the contract end at its term by giving notice in time. Buyers commonly report a written-notice requirement of 30 to 60 days before the renewal date; that is a reported pattern, not a published Drata term, so confirm the auto-renewal clause in your own order form. Miss that window and the contract typically renews automatically at the new rate.

What to read in your own contract

Because Drata does not publish standard termination terms, the answer to "can I leave early" lives in three lines of your signed paperwork: the notice period, the auto-renewal clause, and any early-termination or termination-for-cause language. Everything else is negotiation. If what's driving this is a renewal increase rather than a hard need to exit, the increase itself is usually the more negotiable problem.
